INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

DATE: 15/08/2014
At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends and when the sole of a nation long suppressed find utterance”. So said Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on the eve of India’s Independence. We pay homage to countless freedom fighters as we celebrate the 68th Independence Day.
The students of our school were filled with patriotism and love for the country. Our school presented mélange of patriotic activities which created an atmosphere of national pride.

It was an immense honour for us to have with us our esteemed chief guest Sardar Surender Singh Ji (President Gurudwara Chandi Ki Taksal). We were also blessed to have with us our respected Secretary Sir Sardar Gurmeet Singh Ji.
The programme started with the unfurling of the tri colour by our highly regarded Chief guest which was followed by National Anthem. Followed by this was a colourful presentation of cultural events.
The choir of students of Class VI filled the ambiance with nationalism. The students of class VI were dressed up in saffron, white and green colour to demonstrate their unity and discipline in the form of mass drill. The senior students presented a patriotic skit which traced the atrocities and difficult times faced by our countrymen before India finally won freedom at midnight on August 15, 1947.
The senior as well as the junior students also tapped their feet and captivated the audience with their energetic performance on patriotic songs. Not behind were our tiny tots of Pre-primary section who presented a very small and mesmerizing musical skit displaying their devotion and love towards their country.
At the end our esteemed guest Sardar Surinder Singh Ji encouraged the students with his inspiring words and wished all the students a Very Happy Independence Day. Our respected Secretary Sir Sardar Gurmeet Singh ji also inspired the students with his speech emphasizing the importance of this day and the meaning of ‘independence  in each one of our lives.

Last but not the least our valued Principal Ma’am Ms.Gayatri Kulshreshta expressed her gratitude towards our guests for sparing their valuable time. She also guided our young students to imbibe in them the values that will facilitate them and their  country to prosper.
