A Pious Encounter Nagar Kirtan

Date:-2-11-14

Mentor holds a high place in one’s life. It is believed that the mentor is the person who contributes in overall development of a person, be it personal or spiritual. Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji is one of the prominent Gurus of Sikh communities who inspired people to lead a simple and sacred life yet with purpose of serving humanity to best of one’s capacity. As the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Devji is approaching on November 6, a Nagar Kirtan was organized by Guru Dwara Guru Singh Sabha , Rajapark on November 2,  which commenced from ancient Gurudwara located at Chaura Rasta, moved forward en-route New Gate and ended at Gurudwara Chandi ki Taksal. As Nagar Kirtan commenced the whole environment resonated with “JO BOLE SO NIHAL, SAT SHRI AKAL” and coloured the atmosphere with spiritual colours. Many Schools, social and religious bodies of Sikh community participated in the procession. Keeping in mind the spiritual upliftment of Students, by the grace of our esteemed Secretary Sir Sardar Gurmeet Singh Ji, under the guidance of honorable Principal Ma’am Ms Gayatri Kulshreshta and of teachers. Students of VIIIth to XIth  standards were taken to participate in Nagar Kirtan.
The groups of students started form school at 2:45 pm and joined the procession. They begged blessings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji by offering prayer in Gurudwara. Later in the end students and teacher started back for the school at 5:30 pm. This was a pious and serene experience for all. Which provided opportunity to all to contemplate about the enternal relationship of mentor and disciples.
