As per CBSE guidelines, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai
Patel, was celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Divas(National Unity Day) on 31st
October.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was the leader who played a significant
role in integration of India, persuading more than five hundred self-governing
princely states to merge their separate rights and become one country. To
educate students about the importance of observing National Unity Day Ms.
Rashmi Soman shared significance of the day. She also shared role of each
individual towards attaining the absolute state of unity, integrity and
security.
Later, the Head Boy of the school took a pledge followed by the
students resonating a fervent urge to work whole heartedly for unity of
country. This occasion provided us an opportunity to reaffirm the inherent
strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential
threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country. At the end “Run
For Unity” activity was conducted wherein students, after undertaking the
pledge, took laps of the sports ground to mark the run for unity.
Thus the celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) ended
with a resolve reverberating in each person’s heart to contribute for the unity
of India.
