Mohan Das karamChand Gandhi better known as Mahatma Gandhi has contributed uncountable sacrifices for our country. He obtained the path of non-violence. He was a freedom fighter born on Oct 2, 1869. He said that “Power is of two kinds, one is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then one derived from the fear of punishment.
Lal bahadur Shastri was born on Oct 2 1904, at Mughalsarai, Varanasi as Lal Bahadur Shrivastava., and Shastriji joined the Indian independence movement in the 1920s. Deeply impressed and influenced by Mahatma Gandhi, he became a loyal follower, first of Gandhi, and then of Jawaharlal Nehru.
For their incredible work and freedom that they gave us their birthday is celebrated all over India as Gandhi &Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti.
Our school also witnessed celebration of Gandhi Jayanti and LalbahadurShastriJayanti. The students of class VII presented a melodious song performance which was enjoyed by the audience students learnt that one can mould one’s thoughts and mind in a positive manner to develop the physical and mental courage to act with conviction.
